Already we are almost two weeks into the school year and everyone here at the Pulse is working hard to prepare for all of our upcoming events, keeping up with the station schedule, working on projects for our portfolios, and trying to create a new image for WPPB.
Plans are in the works for our Pulse Booth at the Spring Water Festival in Williamston Park. There will be a raffle for our station t-shirt- the tickets will cost $1- as well as a live broadcast on Saturday. We still have a ton of ideas being tossed around as to what else we would like to have like Guitar Hero. The Festival this year is going to be big for the Pulse!
Along with planning for the Spring Water Festival this Friday and Saturday, we are starting to write and record audio essays. The essays are going onto thisibelieve.org The past few days of class we have sat in a circle and begun to think of issues, topics, and beliefs that each of us can write about and relate to. Mr. Boone has shown us examples and tips to help us get started on our essays as well. Class this week has been more serious, we are reaching into ourselves trying to find that one belief to speak on and passionately tell the world about.
Everyone is getting excited about our new shows and podcasts this year. Brains are turning with ideas for who to work with, what to talk about on air, and how to make the Pulse better than ever. Go check us out and listen to WPPB the Pulse! What better time than the present?
Here at WPPB, we have a rotation of students writing about our station and the experiences we have here on The Pulse. Authors include Joi Watts, Madi Webster, Caroline Major, Tae'Jah Jones, Erin Caffey, Madison Cooper and our Social Media Director Amanda Orr.
