Coming back from Christmas break bring sthe joy of knowing who can go to NYC, but it also means its time for our midterm exams. All the seniors are running around like crazy trying to get our exams completed on time for both Mr. Boone and Mr. Cely on the video side.
Neither exam is a piece of cake. They both take a lot of time and effort to get done correctly. For Boone's class on the radio side of Media Broadcasting, we have a three part exam. Part 1 is an excercise in Adobe Aufition and a show evaluation. Us seniors will be evaluating the shows created by sophomores in their first year of our program. Part 2 is producing a radio show drama as a group. And finally Part 3 is our final radio show for this semester. All these must be produced and turned in in one week.
Our semester exam for the filming part of this class is producing a five minute movie for the annual Senior Film Festival. Each class is divided into groups of four and have one week to write, produce, and edit a movie on the given topic: loss.
At the end of next week is the film festival. There are three guest judges, and all other classes here at the career center are invited to watch all of our movies. There are trophies for Grand Prize, First Place for either A day or B day, People Choice for either A day or B day, best Actor, Best Actress, and Best Director. The group that wins the Grand Prize will recieve a trophy and an automatic 100 for their exam grade, and anyone group or person who recieves an award gets extra credit points on their exam.
All this in only one week?! Oh my!
