So the Miss America Pageant was last night, a great way to show our American pride on the 15th anniversary of 9/11! And all of us at the Pulse would like to give a congrats to all the contestants for their hard work and long journey to get to that stage in Atlantic City. But we would also like to give a special congratulations to our very own Miss South Carolina for being the Miss America 1st runner-up this year!!!
Rachel Wyatt is from right here in our station's area and graduated from Wren High School, the very same school that some of our station crew goes to. I must say it was really exciting and cool to see her on stage representing our state.
And Rachel was outstanding in the pageant. For her talent, she danced to "Something in the Water" by Carrie Underwood and gave it her all. In the swimsuit competition, Rachel walked confidently and with poise to the audience and the entire night she had a smile on her face!
Here are a few fun facts about our Miss South Carolina this year:
Rachel is one-quarter Japanese.
When Rachel was attending Wren High School, she won the school Wrenicycle pageant and she was also Miss America's Most Outstanding Teen 2013.
Rachel goes to Clemson University in South Carolina, where she is on the dance team, The Rally Cats.
Congratulations Rachel on doing your best last night and for making our state proud!!!
