Whenever I think about moving out, I think of the song from a live album of Panic! At The Disco and it always makes me wanna sing. However, I’m not talking about the song today but rather me actually leaving the only home I remember living in.
Don’t get me wrong, every kid has thought about leaving their home one way or another. I, myself, have thought of it a lot. Especially with the end of senior year approaching fast, I have to think of my plans for the future.
As long as I can remember I have wanted to go to college, the colleges I was interested in changed more with me and what I needed. I went from wanting to go to Wingate in North Carolina my freshman year with my best friend at the time to now going to Tri-County with my current best friend. Living situations changed with that as well, I wanted to so desperately be one of those people who lives in dorms on campus but now, I’m in the process of getting a house ready for me and my two best friends to live in.
My cafeteria has a countdown clock for seniors and everytime I see it I’m reminded, I’m almost there. I’m almost moved out. I’m almost graduating. I’m almost in college. I’m almost where I’ve always wanted to be in life and if 8th grade me saw the person I am today. She’d be proud.
