By Abby Hopkins, Social Media Director
On the other side of the Media Broadcasting program at our school, we are given the chance to learn film techniques and get to apply that to our own stuff. For instance, if you go to my personal website, hopkinsmedia.weebly.com, you can actually see some of the stuff we made like my sophomore year for our final exam I helped make a long distance relationship video.
Our senior year is when all of this stuff that we learned throughout being in the program is put to the test. We are entered into festivals after festivals to see how good our work actually is.
So far in the span of a couple of months, we have had three big projects. The projects that I was involved in were titled The Silent Treatment, The Pollution We Cause and our current one which is called The Deathtrap. With each project, I learn how to and how not to do pre-production, production, and post-production.
To give an example, during The Pollution We Caused, we had bad location problems which led us to change our whole project before filming. All of the struggles we had made me feel stronger and want to do so much better. I, like many others, enjoy the film side of our wonderful program and love the challenge of the film industry brings.
I can’t wait to see what the final product of The Deathtrap looks like and even more, I can’t wait to see what next year’s seniors have to bring to the table.
